Data Scientist Senior

SharpGrid is a data company focused on the massive on-trade / HoReCa industry. Our goal is to identify and accurately describe every on-trade outlet (e. g. bars, restaurants) in the world with indicators like business potential, customer engagement, cuisine etc. and to measure the market share and pricing of different products, brands and companies. We are providing our clients such as Coca-Cola, Asahi, Molson Coors or Unilever with data to manage their commercial teams, go to market strategy, marketing campaigns and ultimately grow their sales.

We currently operate in Italy, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia and we are expanding across Europe. Our aim is to disrupt the status quo and become a global authority in on-trade market research, which we believe is totally underserved with good quality data today. But scaling brings new challenges - that is why we are looking for an experienced data scientist. Your work will be crucial for our success. 

What will you do:

• Propose solutions and strategies for business challenges

• Adding new product features, data sources and attributes
• Data mining from valuable sources, preparing studies how to use them

• Experiment with new models and techniques, build analytic systems and predictive models, validation of why model works/does not, building unbiased datasets following consistent metrics
• Present results and explaining insights to business focused people
• Collaborate with Business, Engineering and wider data teams

What do we expect:

• Genuine interest in data & business problems. Creative approach to data science
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, proficiency in query languages like SQL, Pyspark
• Presentation skills: Data visualization tools mastery and great communication skills
• Problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development
• A drive to test, learn and master new technologies and techniques
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering or business intelligence
